FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Please see the camp details for specific camp-tuition costs. At this time, there is no tuition assistance opportunities.
Campers need to bring their own lunch, but snacks are provided during camp.
Our camps are carefully curated and designed to meet the learning and developmental needs of children ages eight and up. There are occasional exceptions made for extenuating circumstances.
Our tuition-based camps are for campers ages 8-11. Our free teen programming starts for teens and tweens once they turn 12: please check out our (Foundational programs)[link] that serve ages 12 and up.

You’ve got stories to make and things to create, so come ready. Whether you’re coming for a half-day or a full day, here’s what you should bring to the Kahlert Youth Media Arts Center to stay fueled, focused, and ready to go.

What To Bring


Reusable Water Bottle: Stay hydrated so your ideas stay fresh. Water bottle filling stations are available.

Comfortable Clothing: Wear something you feel good in. Some camps go outside for filming or field trips, so check the weather and wear comfortable shoes.

A Creative Mindset: Just bring your curiosity, your ideas, and be ready to try new things.

We strive to create a safe, inclusive, and high-energy environment for every creator. Please review our camp policies regarding attendance, cancellations, and community conduct.

1. Arrival & Departure


  • Drop-Off: Daily drop-off is between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM at the Kahlert Youth Media Arts Center. Please use the back parking lot (accessed via the alley west of the building, near Vertical Diner).
  • Pick-Up: Promptness is key! Please pick up your camper at the designated end time for their specific session.
  • Authorized Adults: For safety, only adults listed on your registration form will be allowed to pick up your child. Photo ID may be requested.

2. Cancellations + Refunds


We understand that plans change. Our refund policy is as follows:

  • 30+ Days Before: Full refund (minus a $20 processing fee).
  • 14 Days Before: 50% refund (minus a $20 processing fee).
  • Less than 14 Days: No refunds can be offered for late-notice cancellations.
  • Low Enrollment: If a camp does not meet the minimum enrollment of 4 students, we may cancel the session and provide a 100% refund.
Lunch and snacks

For full-day camps, you’ll get a supervised 30-minute lunch break each day. Please bring your own lunch. Spy Hop will provide snacks and drinks.
